I recently spoke at Lee Jackson’s Agency Transformation Live 2019 event giving a talk on “How Giving back saved my agency.” It got me reflecting on how giving back to the community has helped to grow our authority and profile beyond anything we could have imagined.
There is a lot of trial and error in growth hacking, whereas the objective of user experience design is to remove as much guesswork as possible – by actually asking the right questions at the beginning of a project, to the right people. It essentially offers joined up thinking for clients.
In 2017 we were lucky enough to be selected to partner with 5 other design agencies around the world to craft a collection of pre-designed website layouts for the GeneratePress Site Library. After a successful launch, we were again approached by one of our all-time WordPress heroes, the GeneratePress founder Tom Usborne, to create a brand new design for the main generatepress.com website.
The web design brief was focussed around helping this hugely popular theme establish it’s position as the leading choice for any business or agency looking for a lightweight, while feature-rich, WordPress theme. This was an opportunity not to be missed for our WordPress agency, and a design case study we are very excited to share.
